Technical Diving: The SSI Technical Extended Range (TXR) diving course.
The SSI Technical Extended Range (TXR) diving course will provide divers with the training to conduct two gas switch,
multiple-stops decompression dives to a depths of maximum 50 meters (165 feet) during the course using the full technical diving equipment.
You must be a certified extended range diver or equivalent, or/and have undergone the science of diving and the diver stress and rescue certifications as well as the Deep Diving.
This course is usually conducted within 4 days with 6 dive sessions.
If you want, you can use a normix trimix during the course, which will allow you to go down to 60 meters (200 feet), if not, your maximum depth will be limited to 50 meters (165 feet) using air during the course.
Where to learn the SSI Technical Extended Range (TXR) diving?
All our Tec diving lessons (open circuit or closed circuit rebreather) and technical scuba diving classes are given at our Scotty's dive center headquarters facility, located in the Shangri-la hotel in Mactan, Cebu province.
If you are not a guest of the Shangri-la hotel, you can always walk in, or we can pick you up at your hotel.

Why do you need to take the SSI Technical XR diving course?
You will qualify in technical diving up to a maximum of 60 meters (200 feet) during the course, if using normoxic trimix. You will engage in all types of diving with different mixed gases..
You need to learn to handle multiple deco tanks (cylinders) and safety gas switch as it can be extremely dangerous to breth the wrong gas.
If you want to dive deeper and push your exploration further, you will need to become a full Technical Diver.
With the SSI Technical Extended Range certification you will be able to dive with any dive shop as a Tec Diver.
During the SSI Technical XR diving course, you will learn:
Safe gas switch, use of trimix if you want (it's an option), handle multiple decompression gases and learn to calculate their breathable depth and much more.

The scuba diving gear in the SSI technical XR diving course includes:
Jet fins, mask and another spare mask, technical diving equipments, hogarthian harness, exposure suit with side pockets, hood recommended for long exposure, BCD doughnut, back plate, twin tanks, 2 first stage regulator, 2 or 3 second stage regulator, 1 long hose (2.10m - 7ft), SMB, cutting tool, diving spools.
You can use a sidemount gear during this course if you are qualified for.
