Why do you need to take the SSI Cave Diving and Full Cave diving course?
Exploring a cave without knowing the ins and out is extremely hazardous, and you will put yourself in danger, to say the less, if you do not have any training.
The SSI cave and full cave diving course will set you up with the necessary training in planning and executing dives in caves and overhead environment using cave's divers tools, exploration lines, spools, arrows, and so... well everything you will need to get back safe from your exploration.
You will also need to know about gas management, rules to tie a line, buddy system, light communication (in a pich black environement you cannot signal with your hand), and so much more.
During the SSI cave and full cave diving course, you will learn:
One of the first lesson you will learn is the propulsion skill as you need to learn to propulse yourself without moving any silts, often found in caves (as well as inside wrecks) and a perfect buoyancy. You will also learn but not limited to:
- Learn to handle the cave tec diving equipments and gears.
- Planning and handling lines throughout the cave.
- Learn to jump and put gaps.
- Proper knots, using arrows, cookies, etc...
- Learn complex navigation.
- Learn to communicate with a light and by direct contact.
- And so much more.

If using trimix during this course, you will dive at a maximum depth of 60 meters (200 feet) with an END (Equivalent Narcotic Depth) between 20 and 25 meters max (the same rule that applies for Wreck Diving).

The scuba diving gear in the SSI cave and full cave diving course includes:
2 first stage regulators, 2 second stage regulators plus as many regulators as needed for the deco tanks (cylinder), an exposure suit with side pockets, a BCD doughnut or sidemount, SMB, cutting tool, diving spool, exploration reel, Jet fins, mask and another spare mask, technical diving equipments, 1 long hose (2.10m - 7ft), hogarthian harness, back plate*, twin tank, sling tanks, flash light and two spare flash lights.
You might also do this course with a sidemount gear.
* If diving back mount.
