Technical Diving: The SSI Extended Range Nitrox diving XR course.
With the SSI Extended Range Nitrox, you will learn to do limited decompression dive (up to 15 minutes of decompression) with an accelerated deco gas using the standard 50% Nitrox.
You can use your recreational gear (the traditional BCD AKA Stab) with a single tank (cylinder), but you will hook a sling tank (a 5.7 liters / S40 type) with a 50% Nitrox to accelerate your deco, on your side.
Having a spare tank (cylinder) is an excellent way to dive safer as you have a gas which is breathable starting from 21 meters (68 feet) up to the surface, in case you get a sudden big leak in your back gas.
To start the SSI Extended Range Nitrox, you need to be certified as a deep diver or equivalent and be a certified nitrox diver or equivalent too.

Why do you need to take the SSI Extended Range Nitrox diving course?
To extend your bottom time at 40 meters (130 feet) without the fear of passing your NDL then just following your computer to decompress on your way up without understanding what you are doing.
You will learn to plan limited deco dives with your recreational diving gear as well the procedures to do your deco stops.
You will have a spare (little) tank (cylinder) on your side, use it or not depend on your dive profile and plan, but at the end, you will have peace in mind if you over 5 minutes your NDL at depth.
Many Tec Deep Divers, when they dive "recreational" with their none Tec friends use this configuration, which speaks for itself!
