Diving in Hilutungan and Nalusuan is a diving day safari.
Diving in both islands is a day safari tour on our luxurious bangka boat, where you will enjoy your dives as well as your surface interval.
The Hilutugan marine sanctuary dive site is at 11 kilometers (less than 7 nautical miles) from our Scotty's dive center in Mactan (Cebu region). This is where you will jump in the water for your first dive, then you will go to Nalusuan which is more or less than 5.5 kilometers afar (3 nautical miles) for your second dive.
The diving site of Hilutugan is well-known for the different big schools of fishes. Sea turtles are often seen in the area as well as barracudas, school of groupers, snappers, angelfish sweetlips and a big biodiversity of soft and hard corals.
Once you have finished to dive in Hilutungan, you will be heading to the south first to turn around the height reef (the boat cannot cross it), then you will head to the Nalusuan island.
The diving sanctuary of Nalusuan is an excellent diving site for all levels of divers, from beginners to advanced divers, everyone will enjoy the underwater biodiversity especially the photographers.
On the upper part of the sloped wall, you will see a colony of blue spotted sting rays among the scattered corals on the sandy seabed. As you are going down during the dive, the corals are getting more dense quickly where the usual tropical reef fishes are shoaling around you.
You will spot a huge population of groupers schooling around a field (literally a field) of table corals.

Not only is it a fantasctic day trip for the whole family, but it is a must-do for a diver during a vacation in the Philippines.
The two dives sites are not far from each otherand have 2 different biotopes!
The first dive site (Hilutungan) is known for its big fishes and schools of different species of fish.
The second dive site is known for the huge field of plate corals and all the colorful reef fishes shoaling around.
So what to chose? You do not have to choose as you will dive both diving sites during an amazing day trip.
During this underwater islands tour you will also enjoy the true island tour above the sea, discovering the beauty of the Philippine islands.
Our thoughts about this diving safari.
First of all, you will need to pack your underwater camera with you. If you forget it, you can always ask us to rent one as it will be an unforgettable journey.
Diving at the Hilutungan and Nalusuan islands is a unique experience as each dive will not be the same. This is due to a different biotope that is particular to each island.
And last but not the least, it's also a true island hopping tour during your surface interval, that the whole family can enjoy even if they are not diving.
