Why do i need to learn how to scuba dive on a wreck.

Wreck scuba diver Diving a wreck can be extremely dangerous even with training. There are many inherent dangers linked to wrecks that you are not aware of when you start scuba diving.

There are many types of wrecks all around the world. Each one has its risks, as well as ways to safely penetrate.

You need to learn how to move appropriately inside a wreck without disturbing the marine life or kicking up silt. Floating silt will reduce your visibility, or worsen visibility that may already be poor.

Sharp pieces of metal and dangling objects can hurt you. You need to learn how to recognize potential dangers so you can avoid them.

You also need to learn how to avoid getting lost inside a wreck. You will learn how to follow a guide line or use an exploration reel.

During our PADI Wreck Diver course, you will learn:

First of all, you will learn about safety. You will learn signaling with a flashlight, using exploration reels, and:

  • safety procedures for exploring wrecks
  • proper mapping of a wreck and applying penetration lines for guide exploration
  • skills for diving inside the wreck and consideration of its contents for safety
  • different finning techniques to avoid silt build up
