Located beside the Yapak diving site and the Balinghai wall, Punta Bunga is another easily accessible diving spot from the shores of our Scotty's dive center in Boracay.
Punta Bunga is recommended for beginner and experienced scuba divers as it is an easy dive on a sloped wall with many large flat plateau cutting the wall as you are going down.
The visibility at Punta Bunga is usually good to very good and might, some times, have a mild current.
So with its calm waters, underwater photographers can enjoy the corals formation and all the critters living around.
Punta Bunga is filled with cubbyholes where you will see eels, triggerfish and groupers.
Lionfish and sea snakes are also sighted in the area. Shoal of butterfly fish and angelfish can also be seen as well as sting rays lurking below the corals.
With all this biodiversity, big predators are attracted, and you can often spot some reef sharks like the white tip sharks and some grey reef sharks.

The most interesting part of Punta Bunga stretch from 10 meters (33 feet) deep to 35 meters (120 feet).
It's an underwater paradise for macro photography as well as for the underwater scenary photography. The videographer will also find their need because there is always something moving around, like the reef fishes shoaling around the corals and sea fans.
Sea fans, gorgonians, sponges, soft and hard corals are covering the sea bed where the underwater critters are living such as nudibranchs, pipefish, porcelain crabs, mantis shrimps and so on.
School of jacks, angelfish, snappers and barracudas are also sighted at the Punta Bunga dive site, and often sea turtles are swimming around too.
Our thoughts about diving at the Punta Bunga dive site.
From the shore or from a boat (to go directly at the deeper part), the Punta Bunga diving site is suited for all type and level of divers.
An impressive coral diversity is covering the seabed where a lot of critters are using it as an inhabitat to hide from the bigger predators, making Punta Bunga a haven for the underwater photographers.
Over all from a gorgeous and colorful seabed, to the bigger fishes waiting to eat the smaller hidding in the reef, Punta Bunga has a great underwater biodiversity.
We never say it enough: Our recommendation is to bring your underwater camera as the tropical underwater life in the Philippines is quite unique. And the Punta Bunga dive site is quite unique if you go to dive in Boracay during your vacations.
