Why do you need to become a Rescue Diver?
The Rescue Diver certification, or its equivalent, is central to all diving system certifications. This is not exclusive to PADI, and applies to all scuba diving agencies!
Here are three examples:
- You cannot start technical diving if you are not a certified rescue diver.
- You cannot become a divemaster or instructor if you are not a certified rescue diver.
- You cannot achieve Master Scuba Diver recognition if you are not a rescue diver.
As a matter of fact, many diving courses and certifications require rescue diver certification, or its equivalent. This is true with PADI, SSI, SDI/TDI, RAID, IANTD, and other scuba diving agencies.
What you learn in this course is applicable on land as well. Whether there is a boating accident or a car accident, you will be able to give first aid and handle the situation until emergency responders arrive.
By the end of this course, your knowledge about scuba diving will advance considerably. Your diving skills will also improve a lot! Other divers will look forward to diving with you.
During our PADI Rescue Diver course, you will learn:
While diving, your instructor will guide you through multiple simulations. You will learn how to handle cramps, cuts, overheating, unconsciousness, and the bends. You will learn how to do first aid, how to handle bystanders, and how to ask for help moving large victims. You will also be able to communicate with and give proper diagnostic information to emergency responders. Furthermore, you will learn:
- rescuing yourself and others
- analyzing and handling divers' stress
- using emergency equipment in emergency situations
What you will learn during this course will also be very useful in everyday life.
