The best place to snorkel Hilutungan Island is on its western shore, which has white sand. There is more white sand on its northern sea shore. On its eastern sea shore you will find sea corals at shallow depths.

Carrageenan, made from seaweed and made in Cebu, is in many food products. Local seaweed farmers earn money exporting seaweed from Hilutungan Island to Cebu.

Your Hilutungan Island Excursion

Hilutungan Island's reef top is shallow, starting at only 2 meters (6 feet) deep. You can go snorkeling in calm water currents at that depth. You may also opt to go swimming along the sandbar.

Bring your underwater camera, because the water is crystal clear. The high visibility will allow you to capture picturesque corals and coral fishes.

Also bring bread, because you can go snorkeling and feed fishes at the same time!
