Why do you need to learn how to dive from a boat?
There are many reasons to take this course. We explain a few of them below, but this is not an exhaustive list. This is one of the most important courses you can take.
Approching a boat from underwater can be dangerous. Approaching a boat from the surface is also dangerous, especially with powerful currents. You can end up with an emergency situation if you do not have the knowledge to approach your boat safely.
Doing a back roll, or negative entry, from a boat requires professional instruction. You need to practice this technique.
You cannot always do a giant step. Many boats do not have a platform for it. Without a platform, you cannot treat a boat like a pier.
If your dive spot has strong currents, your guide will use boat jargon. He will make signs and use words specific to boating. If you do not know these signs and phrases, you may endanger your team. You will delay the dive or, worse, your team might not want to dive with you.
Furthermore, if you do not know how to secure your gear on your boat, you can cause an accident.

The scuba diving gear in the PADI Boat Diving course, includes:
This package includes a complete set of scuba gear. We will provide a buoyancy compensator device (BCD), regulators, mask and snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and booties. We also include an SMB (Surface Marker Buoy) or DSMB (Delayed SMB) and a diving whistle.
Your instructor may suggest more diving gear, depending on the type of boat you will be diving from.
All basic scuba gear and extra diving gear is included. We also provide shower facilities, towels, lockers, fresh drinking water, and much more at no extra charge.
