Nalusuan island diving spot map Nalusuan island is situated at 17 kilometers (9 nautical miles) from our Scotty's Dive Center in Mactan, which is 20 to 40 minutes away by boat (depending on the boat you want to rent).
The diving spot at the Nalusuan island starts very shallow (it is also good for snorkeling), and goes down along a sloped wall with sandy parts.
The seabed is filled with soft and hard corals, sponges and many coralline algae where critters are living in.

Nalusuan island is a dive sanctuary which means that the marine life is protected from the fishermen. The biodiversity is impressive as you will see schools of sweetlips, snappers, angelfish, triggerfish, groupers and all the natural reef fishes shoaling around the different species of corals.

Stingrays and a colony of barracudas are also living in the area, as well as some sea turtles.

Because the marine sanctuary starts at a quite shallow depth, Nalusuan is also known for its island hopping tours and excursions with island snorkeling tours.

The corals formation are beautiful and a lot of species of reef fishes are shoaling around. Sweetlips and trevally fish are also hanging around.

All level of divers are welcome as the dive can start at a very shallow depth.
The underwater biodiversity is already impressive at the shallows, then going down you will encounter a school of jacks, tuna, groupers, and even some sea turtles.

It was reported many times that juvenile whale sharks were spotted, as well as some reef sharks, like the white tip sharks and the grey reef sharks. Parrot fishes and cuttle fishes are also living in the area with some barracudas.

A special mention for the reefs, as the coral formations are numerous and sometimes can be strange.
These coral formations are ideal for underwater photography as they will make your pictures unique and colorful.
