The Hilutungan channel at Gilutongan island is a diving site.
The Hilutungan marine sanctuary dive site is 11 kilometers away (less than 7 nautical miles) heading to the 199° from our Scotty's dive center headquarters located at the Shangri-la Mactan, Cebu province.

Hilutungan is also a well-known island hopping and tour destination where people enjoy chilling on their local bangka boat (bamboo made boat with outriggers) and snorkeling around its shallow tropical waters.
As a diver, you will be able to meet some turtles, many schools of parrotfishes, a lot of batfishes,
drummers, ribbon sweetlips shoaling all around, different schools of jackfish, some black and midnight snappers, and many more.
Hilutungan marine sanctuary is also excellent for those who are taking our underwater photography courses as Hilutungan has a colorful and vibrant ocean floor on top of its biodiversity.

The Hilutungan island diving site is mainly made of a slopey wall (like on the picture) which is not really vertical and can go down to 50 meters (165 feet) and even more.
The Hilutungan dive site is well-known to scuba divers for its big school of fish, as well as sighting turtles.

The top of the reef starts very shallow, like 2 meters (6 feet) which is perfect for snorkelers, and continue down quite deep on a steep sloped-wall.
