PADI Rescue Diver Course
The PADI Rescue Diver course is one of the most rewarding experiences in diver education. You will learn the correct techniques and procedures for responding to life-like diving emergencies- both at the surface and underwater. The Rescue Diver Course is a prerequisite to the PADI Divemaster Course.
What is PADI Rescue Diver Diving?
The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to give you the skills, knowledge and confidence to respond positively in the event of a diving emergency. You'll learn the techniques for underwater rescue, rescue at the surface, and accident management. Please note, a current qualification in Emergency First Response (CPR and First Aid) is required to start this course. We can provide this CPR and First aid training in one afternoon and at a dramatically reduced rate when booked with your PADI Rescue Diver Course.The PADI Rescue Course will start with a little bit of theory and a self rescue skills review. Training support materials that include the Rescue Diver DVD and Rescue Diver student manual increase your retention of rescue diving skills. The PADI Rescue Diver manual contains five chapters and each contains a knowledge review- just like your PADI Open Water Diver and PADI Advanced Diver courses.
After that, we go on to practice ten different rescue skills in confined water and on land. These ten rescue diving skills are the foundation responding properly when faced with a rescue diving situation. In order to rehearse these rescue diver skills, we do four separate rescue diving scenarios in open water in order to complete the PADI Rescue Diver Course.
How long does it take?
The PADI Rescue Course usually takes 3-4 days. If you do need to take the Emergency First Response course, or would like time to refresh your EFR skills, please allow 4 days. Furthermore, if you would prefer to move at a more leisurely rate during your time here in Cebu, please let us know and we do our best to accommodate your schedule. Flexibility is one of the best features of the Rescue Diver Course.
