Caohagan Island: A tour to not miss

Caohagan Island is part of the Olango Island Group. The highest elevation is only 10 meters (33 feet) in the entire Olango Island Group. Thus, Caohagan Island is flat.

Locals work hard to preserve the environment. In particular, you will find crystal clear water. They also keep the flowers, plants, and trees in pristine condition.

Snorkeling Caohagan Island

You can go snorkeling all around Caohagan Island. You can see the bottom because of high visibility in water only 1.5 meters (5 feet) deep. The best snorkeling spot is on the east side. The shallow water there extends east for 100 meters.

The main attraction is a sand bar. Go swimming around bamboo trees and cogon grass. Bring your underwater camera for the colorful fish and corals.

The Olango Reef Flat lies to the west. It is part of the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary. The reef flat includes flats, mudflats, coral reefs, mangroves, and salt marsh.

Your Caohagan Island Sightseeing Tour

Caohagan Island Snorkeling Despite being small, Caohagan has several activities you can do. You can take out a boat rental during high tide. Or, you can play volleyball, basketball, and badminton on the white sand beach. You can also visit nearby Mactan Island to go windsurfing, jet skiing, or parasailing.

Caohagan Island is in a good location to go island hopping to other islands. Take your pump boat rental to Mactan Island, Olango Island, and the other nearby islands. Maribago, and its activities on Mactan Island, is only about 75 minutes away by boat.

Be sure to eat the fresh seafood. Local fishermen catch the crabs, shrimps, shellfish, and other fish on the menu.
